My father always called me Núná (phonetic = Niunia)

This is a Polish term of affection for someone you love.

The word Núná reminds me of my early childhood. My father and I spent a lot of time together on the construction site of our house – where we built, screwed, sawed our family’s first own home together. We always made the best of what we had.

These were very happy memories which strongly influenced me in my path to becoming the person I am today.

2011 my professional journey started at IKEA within the Interior Design department.

In 2015 I followed my intuition to study Psychology and majored in Environmental Psychology – exploring the interplay between us and our surroundings. Coming form Interior Design, of course, how we live and shape our homes formed my deepest curiosity.

These milestones created this unique combination of
Interior Design & Psychology, I can offer now as niu.

As you probably already have guessed by now:
niu is inspired by the term Núná, and stands in honor for my father, who has always supported my creativity.

Now, I can’t wait to get to know YOUR story!

Love,
Aleks Pawellek
